An Accompanier from the UK on BBC

Here's an opportunity to hear from an accompanier from the United Kingdom, Jane Harries, via BBC's program on faith, values and spirituality.  Find the podcast here.

Jane Harries, a Quaker from Bridgend, has recently returned from a three--month stint in the West Bank, working with the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI). She's been based in a Palestinian village, living with its people and observing how they relate to Israelis from nearby settlement communities and the country'€™s defence forces. She talks to Roy Jenkins about her work there as part of an ecumenical programme which some British Jews describe as partisan and inflammatory.

Jane is so very articulate and clear about the mission and goals of accompaniment. I urge you to take 14 minutes to listen to the interview

Click on "Peace in Palestine and Back to Church" over on the right-hand side of the screen where it says, "Play recent episodes." I think these downloads are only available for 30 days, so don't wait to hear Jane's impressions. It's wonderful to know this program has a wide listenership throughout the U.K.
